The Gift of Faith

Every Christian should manifest faith and faithfulness, but the Gift of Faith is a supernatural God-given Faith that transcends the faith required for salvation.

The Gift of Faith is NOT SAVING FAITH.

Rom 12:3 says, God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Saving Faith is man’s response to God in accepting His work of salvation…it is your positive response to God.

Saving faith does not require you to understand everything about God or life, but it does require that we realize our need for salvation and to know that Jesus Christ is our only Savior.

Faith means confidence, trust and commitment. I also like the acronym that says

F.A. I. T. H.  = Forsaking All I Trust Him.

Now that you’ve placed your Faith in Jesus, you trust Him with your eternal soul and you’ve committed your Life to serve Him, yet you still live here on this earth, and you can expect adversity and trials.

This is where the Gift of Faith is God’s Greatest Gift.

The Gift of Faith is the supernatural ability to trust God, or to inspire trust in God for a particular need or circumstance. It is a special ability to believe for big things.

You’re motivated to pray and hang on till the answer comes.

The Gift of Faith gives you the ability to carry on even when you don’t know what’s going on!

People say, "I’d like to have the Gift of prophecy, or the gift of miracles or the gift of healing."   Those are all good and needed in the church, but I’ve convinced myself that the Gift of Faith may very well be the greatest gift.

I recall years ago just starting out in church, there were three of us young men that wanted to be preachers. I will admit to you that the other two were gifted in ways that I was not.

One seemed to have prophetic dreams, and the other was just more knowledgeable in scripture and gifted at speaking.  I, on the other hand, loved what I was feeling in the Lord and was just happy to be apart.

During that time, a preacher spoke over all three of us. He accurately called out the gifts that each of us walked in, which was clearly only revealed by the Holy Ghost.

What he said to me was, at the time, not as exciting as what my friends heard, but he said he felt I had the Gift of Faith.  Man, how I would have rather had that Prophetic gift or healing gift or the gift of tongues.  No- I heard the word Faith.

Fast forward nearly 30 years. I’m still here ! My friends sadly, like Demas forsook it all, having loved this present world.

I’m not judging them, after all, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. But, if Faith is the requirement for me to make thru these last days, and to make heaven my home, my prayer is Lord increase my faith!

You can get a healing from the Lord, a miraculous financial break-through, and even a prophetic word...BUT IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE FAITH TO WITHSTAND IN THIS EVIL DAY, YOU MAY LOSE OUT !

The Gift of Faith will operate even when NO miraculous deliverance is forthcoming. The bible says of Stephen that he was A MAN FULL OF FAITH AND OF THE HOLY GHOST.

Paul lists the Armor of God in Eph. Chapter 6, which includes the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness and Gospel Shoes but he adds ABOVE ALL, take the Shield of Faith.

Thank God for Faith. What a wonderful Gift it has been to us all.
